Sevilla extended coach Manolo Jimenez's contract until the end of next season on Tuesday after earning automatic qualification in the Champions League. Jimenez, 45, was promoted from within to replace Juande Ramos in October 2007 and led them to fifth place in the Primera Liga last year. This season he has secured third place behind Barcelona and Real Madrid with one match left to play and was given the unanimous backing of the board to continue, the club said in a statement on their website.
