Wigan Athletic forward Olivier Kapo may miss the start of the Premier League season after damaging knee ligaments in a pre-season friendly. The 28-year-old Frenchman, who has made just 19 league appearances for the Latics since arriving from Birmingham City last summer, sustained the injury during the clash with German outfit Hannover 96 on the club's tour of Austria. However, manager Roberto Martinez revealed that the injury is not as serious as first feared. “It's actually better news than we first feared," he told the Wigan Evening Post. “We thought he had suffered a rupture but thankfully it's only a strain of the lateral knee ligament. “Hopefully it's not a long-term injury, it could have been much worse.” WIGAN FANS!
