LISBON - Unheralded Leixoes continued their excellent start to the season with a 1-0 win at Sporting on Saturday to stay top of Portuguese Premier League. Leixoes have 19 points from eight matches, four ahead of Benfica who host Estrela Amadora on Sunday. Brazilian midfielder Roberto Sousa clinched the victory with a shot from outside the penalty area. Champions Porto beat Vitoria Guimaraes 2-0, their first win in three league games secured with two goals by Argentine players. Striker Lucho Gonzalez headed home a cross from the right by midfielder Raul Meireles after 65 minutes and substitute Eduardo Farias made the points safe for the northern team two minutes from time.
