Liverpool loss 'unfair' – Tottenham manager Antonio Conte hails 'big effort' after boos

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte says his players reacted positively to half-time boos from fans against Liverpool on Sunday and believes the 2-1 loss to the Reds was 'unfair'.

Spurs found themselves two goals down at the break following a Mohamed Salah double and the players went off with boos ringing in their ears after yet another slow start.

Conte's side were much better after the interval and created a series of chances, one of which was converted by Harry Kane, but the north Londoners were unable to find a late leveller as Liverpool held out for their first away win in the Premier League this season.

"I think the fans tried to support us from the start until the end, and for sure, they received the big effort the players made [in response]," the Italian told Sky Sports after the game.

"In the first half, it was unbalanced, we were 2-0 down and could've finished better. We didn't score.

"And then in the second half, we attacked a lot and created many chances, and honestly, I think the result is unfair."
