MILAN - AC Milan will clarify coach Carlo Ancelotti's future on Monday if they secure automatic qualification to next year's Champions League in Sunday's Serie A match against AS Roma, the club's chief executive said. Premier League Chelsea have lined up Ancelotti to be their coach next season, according to media reports. "I hope to say something on Monday because it will mean we have achieved direct qualification (to the Champions League)," Adriano Galliani told reporters on Thursday. Former Netherlands coach Marco van Basten, Milan director Leonardo and Cagliari boss Massimiliano Allegri are the front-runners to take over at Milan, who are second in Serie A and can gain direct entry to the Champions League by beating Roma. "I have never spoken to any coaches and I challenge anyone to show the contrary," Galliani added. "We have never thought about any (other) coaches. Let's allow the championship to finish and we'll see."
