AC Milan are close to signing 24-year-old Brazilian centre back Thiago Silva from Fluminense, Italian media have reported. The Serie A side are currently without injured defenders Alessandro Nesta and Daniele Bonera, who will be out for at least three weeks after having surgery on an inguinal hernia, the club said on their website. But Milan will not be able to use the Brazilian, who has also been linked to Chelsea, Inter Milan and Villarreal, until next season if the deal goes through because they already have their full quota of non-EU players.
