Milan: Dzeko deal off the table
Despite reported interest from a string of Premier League sides, including the Gunners and Spurs, the 23-year-old has repeatedly declared Milan as his favoured destination amid growing speculation that he would be leaving the reigning German champions during the January transfer window.
Milan’s managing director Adriano Galliani, however, has refuted reports Dzeko is San Siro-bound and admitted he is not the type of player the Rossoneri are currently on the lookout for.
“We are looking for an out and out attacker,” Galliani said in the Daily Mail.
“We like Dzeko, but he doesn’t have the characteristics we are looking for.”
Dzeko netted 26 goals in the German league last year and bagged four in this season’s Champions League group stages – including strikes in both home and away encounters against Manchester United.
