Milan set to seal Huntelaar deal

AC Milan will complete the signing of Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar on Thursday, according to reports in Italy. The Dutchman's time at the Bernabeu - along with several of his fellow countrymen - is seemingly over following the return of former president Florentino Perez, who has already splashed more than £200 million on stellar signings including Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso. The striker has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs, while Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart had agreed a deal with Real, only for the player to snub the opportunity to join the German outfit. Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp recently revealed that he was interested in recruiting the ex-Ajax goal-getter, who has totalled 143 league goals in 203 club appearances to date. However, the Rossoneri  remain in the hunt for a new front-man, with speculation linking them with Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko, former Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor, and Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano all failing to come to fruition. And, according to Corriere dello Sport, Huntelaar will now put pen to paper on a four-year-contract with the San Siro side on Thursday worth €3.5 million-per-year. Milan owner Sílvio Berlusconi was also reported to have announced that the club will soon capture a "great goalscorer," while midfielder Andrea Pirlo told that: "The club will buy a great striker, we know who he is but we cannot say. He will help us to win."
