PARIS - Philippe Montanier has been appointed Valenciennes coach, the Ligue 1 club said on Tuesday. The 44-year-old Montanier joined from Boulogne-sur-Mer who have just won promotion to Ligue 1 for the first time and signed a three-year contract, the club said in a statement. He will take over from Antoine Kombouare, who has moved to Paris St Germain.
