Mourinho: Fans won't weep for Ibrahimovic

ROME - Inter Milan fans will be too busy falling in love with Samuel Eto'o to weep for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Inter coach Jose Mourinho said. Sweden striker Ibrahimovic, Serie A's top scorer last season, is set to join Barcelona in a complicated swap deal with Cameroon striker Eto'o. Barca will also pay Inter cash and loan Belarus midfielder Aleksandr Hleb to the Italian side. Ibrahimovic and Eto'o have both agreed personal terms but some details still have to be ironed out. "He has always given everything he could to me and to Inter," Mourinho told Saturday's La Gazzetta dello Sport during the club's tour in the United States. "He didn't manage to get the fans to fall in love with him though. They are not crying about his sale and are ready to love Eto'o." Mourinho said his sadness at seeing his best player go was balanced his excitement at Eto'o's arrival. "Inter had to choose whether to say: 'We're not selling you' to Ibrahimovic, or get Eto'o plus Hleb free for a year, plus 50 million euros," he said. "This seems an extraordinary deal to me, a 100-million euro deal, the deal of the summer. For me it's worth 100 million because Eto'o is not worth a euro less than Ibra'".
