Orellana cleared to play for Xerez

MADRID - Chile midfielder Fabian Orellana has had his asthma medication approved by the Spanish sports council (CSD), clearing him to make his debut for promoted Xerez, the La Liga side said on their website.

Orellana needed approval to be able to use the banned stimulant Salbutamol for his condition, and has not been able to play for Xerez since completing a loan move from Udinese last month.

La Liga debutants Xerez will be looking to the 23-year-old to help them score their first top-flight goal having failed to net in their opening five matches. Orellana scored Chile's winner against Argentina in a World Cup qualifier last October.
