Manchester United and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves has been ruled out for the rest of the season because of a knee injury, the Premier League champions said on their website. Hargreaves underwent successful surgery on his right knee and will have surgery on his left knee in two weeks' time after being troubled by tendinitis since arriving at Old Trafford in July 2007. The 27-year-old former Bayern Munich player has started just two matches this season. He began less than half of last term's games but did play in United's Champions League final win over Chelsea.
