Pienaar recalled to South Africa squad

JOHANNESBURG - Midfielder Steven Pienaar has been recalled to the South Africa squad for friendlies against Norway and Portugal after missing the last nine games for the 2010 World Cup hosts.

Injury-hampered Pienaar, who won the last of his 36 caps in June, was named on Thursday in coach Joel Santana's 23-man squad for the matches at home to Norway in Rustenburg on March 28 and against Portugal in Lausanne, Switzerland on March 31.
