Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed Inter Milan midfielder Patrick Vieira is interested in signing for the club this summer. The former Portsmouth boss has had to recently make a new central defender his No.1 priority following injuries to Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson, as well as Ledley King. However, the 62-year-old is still hopeful of signing a defensive midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window, with ex-Arsenal skipper Vieira and Real Madrid enforcer Lassana Diarra on his wish-list. And Redknapp has revealed that the 33-year-old Frenchman - who made more than 250 league appearances for the Gunners, winning three Premier League titles and four FA Cups - is tempted to join Arsenal's arch rivals. "If he wants to come to Tottenham it shows you about his character. He wants to come and play, he's a fantastic player and wants to play here," he said. "I'm still interested in Patrick, I would like him." And the Spurs supremo shrugged off suggestions that the White Hart Lane faithful might not welcome the signing of the former Gunners great. "What's he done wrong? He hasn't killed anyone, he's just a great player who played for Arsenal," he said.
