The Ligue 1 side went ahead when Cameroon midfielder Stephane M'Bia scored in the 31st minute following a mistake by keeper Jeremy Soplaski. Unmarked striker Jimmy Briand made it 2-0 by heading in a centre from Moussa Sow in the 60th minute. Rodez knocked out Paris St Germain in the previous round. Earlier on Wednesday, Grenoble defeated Monaco 2-0 in an all-Ligue 1 tie thanks to goals from Daniel Moreira and Nassim Akrour. "That was fantastic, one of our most accomplished games of the season," said midfielder Laurent Battles who laid on Moreira's 13th-minute goal. On Tuesday, Toulouse defeated Lille 7-6 in a penalty shootout and Guingamp ousted Ligue 2 rivals Sedan 3-1. The semi-finals will be played on April 21-22.
