Ronaldo to replace Beckham in Milan

Real Madrid midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo is set to become the next high-profile footballer to model underwear for Emporio Armani as part of their spring-summer collection next year, according to reports in Italy.

The FIFA World Player of the Year became the most expensive player in the world earlier this summer, after completing an £80 million move from Manchester United to the Bernabeu.

And, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Portugal international will now replace ex-Old Trafford icon David Beckham on Milan's billboards from February.

Ronaldo's choice is an unusual one, considering footballers picked in the past have all played for AC Milan, including Andriy Shevchenko, Kaka and Beckham, who was on loan at the San Siro from LA Galaxy earlier this year and is expected to return for a second spell in January.

"This time it's the turn of the international media's favourite footballer, one that plays for Real Madrid, drinks champagne with Paris Hilton in Los Angeles and sails his boat around the Mediterranean," said the report.
