Rooney set to father first child

Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney is set to become a father for the first time, following news that wife Coleen is three months pregnant. The 23-year-old netted twice for his country on Saturday in England's 4-0 friendly win against Slovakia and, according to sources, is said to be “absolutely thrilled, delighted and really excited.” While a friend of the couple told the Mail: "Wayne and Coleen are both thrilled and really excited about becoming parents. "They don't know if they're having a girl or a boy yet, but they've said they will be delighted with either. They've always wanted to start a family together, so this is their dream coming true." The ex-Everton striker recently said he would like to have three or four children to match his own large family, although Coleen is less keen having admitted: “Until you’ve had one child you can’t really tell how many you’d like.” A deal worth £1 million is believed to have already been made to the couple for the first pictures of the baby, due in late September. And bookmakers are already offering odds on the child’s name, including a tempting punt on Alex (after Sir Alex Ferguson) at 4-1 and less convincing odds of 25-1 on a baby girl being named Waynetta.
