New manager Walter Mazzarri has turned things around at the San Siro following a disappointing 2012-13 campaign, with Inter having picked up two wins and a draw from their opening three matches.
Serie B champions Sassuolo, meanwhile, are looking to claim their first point of the season when the two sides go head-to-head at Stadio Citta del Tricolore.
Eusebio Di Francesco's side have lost all three of their games so far - including two against sides with whom they were promoted at the end of last season.
But, while Inter go into the game as strong favourites, the club's president Massimo Moratti has urged caution from his side.
"Inter are the team who have to play against Sassuolo, a side new to Serie A brimming with enthusiasm," he said.
"They’re an opponent we should fear because results are never decided in advance and often you find that the emotional factor makes a big difference in games.
"I know we have a coach capable of instilling the right level of focus in the players.That's something Mazzarri is very good at, and I'd like to see the same level of quality, strength and determination that we saw against Juventus."
Inter come into the game having earned a hard-fought point against defending champions Juventus last time out, whereas Sassuolo suffered a defeat to Verona.
Rodrigo Palacio leads the scoring charts for Mazzarri's side with two goals, while new signing Mauro Icardi struck the opening goal of the game against Juventus.
But it is in defence where the new coach appears to have had the biggest influence, with his back three of Jonathan, Juan and Andrea Ranocchia having only conceded one goal so far.
Di Francesco will be looking to experienced players such Reto Ziegler, Marcello Gazzola and Antonio Floro Flores to take the lead following his side's poor start.
And, while the early strugglers will be without Emanuele Terranova, Luca Marrone and Alberto Aladje could be fit to return.
For Inter, the only concern is Ranocchia who picked up a knock against Juventus, although he should be fit enough to play.
