Sissoko out with broken metatarsal

MILAN - Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has broken a metatarsal bone in his left foot which may keep him out for the remainder of the season. "Last night, in the course of the game between Torino and Juventus, Mohamed Sissoko suffered trauma to his left foot which caused a metatarsal fracture," a club statement on Sunday said. The Mali international is definitely out of Tuesday's Champions League last 16 second leg tie with Chelsea after coming on as a late substitute in Saturday's 1-0 win. AS Roma, who host Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday, said in a statement that right back Cicinho had suffered a knee injury. Media reports said he would be out for the season. Inter Milan defenders Nicolas Burdisso and Marco Materazzi will definitely miss Wednesday's Champions League last 16 second leg with Manchester United and could be out for lengthy spells. "For Nicolas Burdisso, tests showed a tear in the right leg and a tear in the medial ligament of the left knee," a club statement said, adding that Materazzi had a left leg injury. Fellow centre back Walter Samuel has returned to full training but Cristian Chivu remains a doubt for Wednesday.
