Spurs set to seal Sandro deal

Tottenham Hotspur are close to splashing out £6.5 million to bring Brazilian midfielder Sandro to the Premier League, according to the player’s agent.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has previously confirmed his admiration for the 20-year-old and intends to clinch his signature during the January transfer window.

The Internacional starlet is captain of the Brazil U20 side and made his senior debut for the Samba Boys earlier this year.

The Londoners agreed a co-operation deal with the Brazilian outfit prior to their interest in Sandro and are believed to be confident in sealing the transfer.

And the player’s agent, Luiz Paulo Chignall, admits a possible move to White Hart Lane is not far from completion.

“This deal is very advanced although Internacional are yet to receive some important documents,” he said.

Sandro, however, insists he is less clear if a proposed move to England is imminent, but understands there may be negotiations taking place behind the scenes.

“I don’t know anything,” he admitted to Radio Gaucha.

“If there would be something true about my transfer I suppose that somebody would have told me something about it.

“But maybe there is something true about me being transferred but they are respecting my personal moment and that’s why I haven’t been told anything.”
