Championship strugglers Norwich City have sacked manager Glenn Roeder, following last night's FA Cup defeat at the hands of Charlton Athletic. A statement on the club's official website confirmed the former West Ham and Newcastle boss's contract had been terminated with immediate effect. Chairman Roger Munby said: "We'd like to place on record our sincere gratitude and admiration for what Glenn and his staff achieved last season when they saved the Club from relegation against the odds. "However this season the position has become untenable and it is with regret that the Board has decided to take this step. We are in the process of deciding who will take charge of the team for Saturday's Championship match against Barnsley at Carrow Road and a further announcement will be made about this in due course" The Canaries also confirmed the contracts of first team coaches Paul Stephenson and Adam Sadler had been terminated with immediate effect.
