Struggling Xerez sack Ziganda

MADRID - La Liga's bottom club Xerez sacked coach Jose Angel Ziganda on Tuesday with the side rooted to the foot of the standings.

Technical secretary Antonio Poyatos will take charge on a temporary basis until a replacement is found, the Andalucian club said in a statement on their website.

Xerez won promotion from the second division for their first ever top-flight campaign this season but have only managed one victory in 17 outings.

They have scored only seven goals and are eight points behind Tenerife who are one place above the relegation zone.
