Stuttgart coach Markus Babbel says he is hopeful that Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will join the German outfit, adding that he would be the perfect replacement for Mario Gomez. The 25-year-old front-man only joined the Spanish giants from Ajax in January, netting eight league goals in 20 appearances. However, the Dutchman's future at the Bernabeu - along with several of his fellow countrymen - has been cast into doubt following the return of former president Florentino Perez, who has already splashed more than €200 million on stellar signings including Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Huntelaar has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. However, Stuttgart have since had a €20 million bid for the Holland international, who has scored 13 times in 23 caps, accepted. And although Huntelaar has yet to decide where his future lies, former Liverpool defender Babbel believes he is the man to fill the boots of Mario Gomez, who has joined Bayern Munich. "He would fit right in. He is the sort of quality hitman we are looking for," he told Stuttgarter Zeitung. "We haven't been doing any business on that sort of level yet, but we need a suitable replacement for Mario Gomez and that's why we went for him. "It's not about spending €3 million on someone, that wouldn't help us. We need genuine quality."
