Tabarez names Uruguay squad for friendlies

MONTEVIDEO, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Coach Oscar Washington Tabarez, who steered Uruguay to the World Cup semi-finals, named his first squad on Thursday since signing a new contract this month.

Tabarez included forwards Diego Forlan, voted best player at the World Cup, and Luis Suarez in a 25-man squad for friendlies against Indonesia and China next month.

The pair missed Uruguay's 2-0 victory in a friendly against Angola last month, in their first match since finishing fourth in the South Africa finals.

Uruguay play Indonesia in Jakarta on October 8 and China in Wuhan four days later.
