Lokomotiv Moscow goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing him in the summer, casting the future of Brazilian glove-man Heurelho Gomes into further doubt. The former PSV Eindhoven stopper has been the subject of constant scrutiny since his arrival last summer, with a succession of mistakes - particularly against Aston Villa, Udinese and Fulham - ensuring his start to life at White Hart Lane was a turbulent one. However, the 28-year-old's displays have notably improved as the season has progressed. But with manager Harry Redknapp having already recruited Carlo Cudicini from Chelsea and now believed to be tracking Jakupovic, it remains to be seen whether Gomes figures in Redknapp's future plans. 24-year-old Jakupovic is about to complete a second season on loan at Grasshopper Zurich - once scoring a 94th minute equaliser against BSC Young Boys - and has appeared once for Switzerland, against Cyprus in August 2008. “Yes, there is contact with Tottenham,” he said in Basler Zeitung, refusing to confirm that a deal was “100 percent definite.” SPURS FANS!
