United linked with Robben raid

Manchester United are reportedly preparing an offer for Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben. The 25-year-old has made 50 league appearances for the Bernabeu outfit - scoring 11 times - since arriving from Chelsea in 2007.However, following the expensive acquisitions of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Alvaro Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso, Real are open to offers for Dutch quintet Robben, Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Roysten Drenthe and Ruud van Nistelrooy, while Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has already joined AC Milan.Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Fenerbahce have been linked with a move for the former PSV star. But after an impressive pre-season, in which he has scored three times and bagged two assists, Robben appeared to be set to remain in the Spanish capital in 2009/10.Robben was reportedly close to signing for the Red Devils in 2004, but instead moved to Premier League rivals Chelsea from PSV.And United are now believed to be keen on finally adding the wide-man to their ranks before the transfer window slams shut next week, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson poised to launch an £11 million bid for his services.NEWS: Fenerbahce ready approach for RobbenNEWS: Robben shrugs off exit rumoursREAL MADRID FANS!
