Villa set for Champions League next season

Valencia talisman David Villa has hinted his future may lie away from the Mestalla outfit next season should Los Che fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Unai Emery's side are currently fifth in the la Liga standings with two games remaining, two points adrift of Atletico Madrid who occupy the final Champions League berth.

And Villa, who has netted 25 league goals this season and continues to be linked with summer moves to Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid, has revealed he will be playing in European football's elite competition in 2009/10, suggesting it may be with someone else should his current club fail to qualify.

"Next year I will be in the Champions League," he told As.

"There are many rumours, but I ignore them.

"I will decide what is best for my future. But Valencia fans should not be upset that other clubs want their players.

"They should be proud."
