Xavi misses Spain training

MADRID - Barcelona midfielder Xavi missed training on Wednesday due to a knee problem but should be available for Saturday's World Cup qualifier away to Armenia, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) said.

Xavi worked in the gym as a precaution but Fenerbahce forward Daniel Guiza, who has also been struggling with a knee complaint, trained as normal, the RFEF said on its website.

Spain, who have secured the top spot in Group Five and a place in the finals in South Africa next year, play Armenia in Yerevan on October 10. and second-placed Bosnia in Zenica four days later.
