Dramane Traore named FourFourTwo's Malaysian Super League Player of the Month
PDRM’s ascent to the top of the Malaysian Super League table has been largely based on their ruthlessness in front of goal, with Traore being their main goal-getter.
After announcing himself to the Malaysian football fans with a hat-trick in the 5-3 loss to the LionsXII in the season opener, the Malian striker has gone from strength to strength. Although there were only two games played in March, Traore managed to score three goals for his team. He grabbed the consolation goal in the heavy 4-1 defeat to Selangor before scoring twice in PDRM's 3-1 win at Perak, which ended the Bos Gaurus’ unbeaten run to the season.
If we include his winning goal against Sarawak recently (in the month of April), he has scored eight goals so far – three more than last season’s Golden Boot winner, Paulo Rangel – which is 61% of PDRM's total league goals.
Other players in contention for the monthly award included Selangor forward Ahmad Hazwan Bakri and LionsXII defender Madhu Mohana.
