Euro 2016: FourFourTwo's Singapore Bulletin, Day 22

We had a nail-biting finish in the first quarter-final of Euro 2016, with Portugal and Poland trading first-half goals before the former finally triumphed in a penalty shootout. Plus we look ahead to the upcoming schedule...

We are part of The Trust Project What is it?

Portugal hold their nerve

The first quarter-final is in the book, with Portugal overcoming Poland on penalties in an entertaining final-eight clash.

Once again Cristiano Ronaldo was the headline act, with some glowing in their praise of his exploits and others saying the Portuguese progressed despite the superstar's off night.

But it wasn't all about him, for a change. The emergence of goal-scoring 18-year-old Renato Sanches also demanded some column inches.

Sanches has quickly emerged as a headline act

There were also a couple of headlines for the luckless Poles, who could at least toast their best performance at a European Championship.

He's heading home, but Lewy at least found some scoring form
