Euro 2016: FourFourTwo's Singapore Bulletin, Day 28

The first semi-final for Euro 2016 is in the books, with Cristiano Ronaldo leading Portugal past Wales. Next up is the heavyweight stoush between France and Germany...

We are part of The Trust Project What is it?

Ronaldo rules the roost

Few had discussed Portugal as a genuine shot at winning this year's European Championships prior to the tournament getting underway.

Expectations were even lower after the team struggled to opening-round draws with Iceland and Austria.

Even now that they are in the final, the vast majority expect the winner to come from the other semi-final featuring France and Germany.

But the Portuguese don't care. They are right where they want to be, one victory away from glory.

All the news and reaction is below.

Wales' Wonderful ride comes to an end

Speaking of low expectations, may we present Wales!
Tipped to lag behind England and Russia in their group, they instead finished on top and then set about producing the greatest run in Welsh football history.
Afterwards, players and coaches were lauding it as a landmark moment for the country, rather than a one-off.

The Favourites v The Champs

Next up looms as a superb contest between the pre-tournament favourites and host nation France up against the reigning World Champions and three-time Euro champions Germany.

There will be fireworks, there will be action ... will there be another penalty shootout?
