Shahdan Sulaiman

A good distributor of the ball, Shahdan returns to the LionsXII squad after two years away. He was to be an important signing for the team, but alas a horror leg break against Myanmar in the Suzuki Cup has ruled him out of action till at least the middle of the year.

Age: 26
Position: Midfielder
International Caps/Goals: 42/2
Former Clubs: Tampines Rovers (2006-2008, 2010-2011, 2013-2014), Home United (2009-2010), Young Lions (2011)

Last Year

Shahdan played a significant role for Tampines as a vice captain as they challenged on two fronts – in the AFC Cup and the S.League. Last season represented a return to form of sorts for the midfielder as he earned a recall back to the national set up. A superb Suzuki Cup tournament was sadly ended by his horror injury.

This Year

Making it back onto the pitch will be a significant milestone for Shahdan this year. There has been plenty of support from his teammates in the meantime, but even if he does come back, it will be foolish to expect too much too soon.
