Everything you need to know about the Singapore U22s
Led by three-time S.League Coach of the Year Richard Bok, the U22s will be taking part in their biggest international assignment of date – the 2016 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers in Vientiane.
The task will not come any easier, with the Cubs having to play three games in five days – beginning with hosts Laos this Friday, then China two days later, before rounding things up against Mongolia on 31 March.
The group winners and five best second-placed sides from the 10 qualifying groups will advance into the tournament proper in Qatar, which will also serve as the pre-Olympic qualifiers for the 2016 Rio Olympics football tournament, next January.
Singapore narrowly missed out on qualification last time out in Indonesia in 2012, as they finished fourth in a six-team group that included Asian powerhouses Japan and Australia. One might make a case that this year's group seems much more manageable, but there are no certainties in football. Can they go one better in securing a coveted finals spot this time?
FFT enlists coach Bok's help as we take a look at every member of the team that will fly Singapore's colours beginning this Friday.
