Gombak’s 2008 League Cup winners: Where Are They Now?

We are part of The Trust Project What is it?

Odion Obadin

Coming under the recommendation of former Bull and older brother Obadin Aikhena, the 1.88m Nigerian defender showed promise in his two seasons (2008 and 2009) with the club, but returned home the following year to join Shooting Stars SC where he lasted just a season.

He then came back to Southeast Asia to play for Cambodia’s Phnom Penh Crown from 2011 to 2016. Odion is now playing in Norway with third-tier side IF Flint.

Shafuan Sutohmoh

A neat player who kept things tidy in the middle of the park, Shafuan was a competent player at the S.League level.

After leaving the Bulls in 2011, he spent two years with Balestier Khalsa before having a final S.League season with Woodlands in 2014.

The 32-year-old is now into his second season with National Football League (NFL) Division Two side Gymkhana FC and is the current club skipper.

Fazli Jaffar

A winger who can whip in delicious crosses with his left boot, Fazli is now into his 12th professional season and is the only player from that 2008 squad still playing in the S.League.

He left the Bulls for Hougang in 2011 and spent four successful seasons there before lured by Warriors FC in 2015.

Struggling for game time with the uniformed outfit, he returned to play for the Cheetahs in the second half of that season.

The 34-year-old re-joined Warriors in 2016 and had decent game time under coach Razif Onn.
