Ins & Outs: FFT's guide to S.League transfers in December

Hougang United

After a month full of uncertainty following news of the merger with Woodlands Wellington, the Cheetahs – who will keep their Hougang United name – have signed a few players capable of bringing improvement in 2015.

Kunihiro Yamashita and Ruzaini Zainal may prove to be valuable signings with their talent and experience, while Muhaymin Salim and Matthew Abraham can turn out to be the wildcards in their push for the top half of the table.

One foreign player slot still remains (former Warriors midfielder Shimpei Sakurada remains on trial with Hougang), so expect things to remain busy in Hougang.

In: Kunihiro Yamashita (Tampines), Ahmadulhaq Che Omar (Woodlands), Francisco Salvador Ela, Takashi Manato, Fareez Farhan (Courts Young Lions), Muhaymin Salim (Balestier), Ridhuan Barudin (Tampines), Matthew Abraham (Tampines), Ruzaini Zainal (Tanjong Pagar),  Taufiq Ghani (Woodlands)

Out: Benedict Chua, Diego Gama (Pusamania Borneo FC), Nazri Sabri, Igor Cerina, Igor Ferreira Alves, Syaqir Sulaiman (Warriors), Fazli Jaffar (Warriors), Azhar Sairudin (Home United), Geison Moura, Erwan Gunawan

Tampines Rovers

With Sundram returning to Singapore shores to take up the Tampines hot seat, the Stags are making no secret of their desire to reclaim the S.League title.

Their signings have been nothing but spectacular, with Hassan Sunny, Zulfadli Zainal and Ismail Yunos successfully poached from Warriors, and Ridhuan Muhammad finally making a return to his former club.

With two spots still open for foreign players, do not be surprised if chairman Teo Hock Seng pulls out the cheque book as Tampines go all out to ensure they become the best club in the S.League once again.

In: Ridhuan Muhammad (Geylang), Hassan Sunny (Warriors), Zulfadli Zainal (Warriors), Ismail Yunos (Warriors), Fabrice Noel (ATM FA), Eddy Viator (Putrajaya Spa FC), Firdaus Idros (Tanjong Pagar), Sazali Salleh (Tanjong Pagar), Mateo Roskam (Sime Darby), Fabian Kwok (Geylang), Joey Sim (Geylang)

Out: Shariff Samat, Kunihiro Yamashita (Hougang), Shahdan Sulaiman (LionsXII), Aleksandar Duric (Retired), Miljan Mrdakovic, Imran Sahib (Home United), Anaz Hadee (Geylang), Ridhuan Barudin (Hougang), Matthew Abraham (Hougang), Jacob Butler, Justin Pasfield, Ang Zhi Wei (Home United), Jozef Kaplan (Geylang), Abdil Qaiyyim (Home United)

Warriors FC

The defending S.League champions have picked up a few established local players in Syaqir Sulaiman, Fazli Jaffar and Hamqaamal Shah, as they return to the Asian Champions League for the first time in five years, albeit through the playoffs.

But having lost Hassan Sunny to Tampines, they lack a proper goalkeeper – which has to be their priority in the transfer window this month.

In: Emmeric Ong (LionsXII), Fazli Jaffar (Hougang), Syaqir Sulaiman (Hougang), Marcus Wheeler (Tanjong Pagar), Daniel Ong (Home United), Andy Ahmad (Woodlands), Hamqaamal Shah (Geylang)

Out: Nurhazwan Norasikin, Hassan Sunny (Tampines), Zulfadli Zainal (Tampines), Ismail Yunos (Tampines), Agu Casmir, Jeremy Chiang, Neezam Abdul Aziz, Dharham Aziz
