Liverpool fans paint Clarke Quay red at LFC World!

The event was the culmination of a week of Liverpool activities in Singapore revolving around LFC World, an interactive experience at Suntec City featuring a virtual reality Anfield experience thanks to Standard Chartered and a replica of the Champions League trophy.
Fans then began queuing up hours before the match against Watford, with some lucky supporters getting the opportunity to meet the club’s all-time leading scorer Ian Rush and fellow former Reds Gary McAllister and Luis Garcia.
Rush and McAllister were interviewed on stage at McGettigan’s by FourFourTwo, while LFC TV broadcast live onto the club’s Facebook page prior to kick-off.
It all meant the excitement and anticipation was at boiling point when the match started, particularly with Arsenal’s earlier draw with Tottenham meaning the Reds would go top if they secured all three points.
After some near-misses, the opening goal arrived in the 27th minute courtesy of Sadio Mane. That signalled the proverbial floodgates to open, with five more goals flowing by an irrepressible Liverpool line-up.
Even a 75th-minute goal from Watford’s Daryl Janmaat did little to dampen the fans’ spirits, who produced another stirring version of You’ll Never Walk Alone after the full-time whistle.
We’d like to offer a special thank you to Standard Chartered for helping to put on the event and McGettigan’s for their ongoing support and, of course, thank you to Liverpool Football Club!
