Albirex may have a two goal cushion after Wednesday's 3-1 win over Home United in the 1st leg of the Singapore Cup semi-finals, but skipper Shuto Inaba has vowed that his side will not shut up shop at Bishan Stadium on Saturday.

“The first goal on Saturday would be very important for both teams," Inaba told FFT.  "We shouldn’t be playing defensively because we need to score first. We are an attacking team and we will play as always.”

We will prepare well in the next few days and go all out on Saturday

The midfield maestro said his side had learned their lesson after last year’s Singapore Cup quarter-final scare, where Albirex led Geylang International 2-0 in the first leg, before conceding two early goals in the second leg.

The Japanese outfit however, went on to score two second half goals to win the tie 4-2 on aggregrate.

"We want to prevent something like that from happening again on Saturday, so we will prepare well in the next few days and go all out on Saturday,” Inaba said.

Home have been tough to beat at the Bishan stadium recently

The Protectors are on the back of a four game unbeaten run at home and the two sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Bishan Stadium last Tuesday in an S.League clash.

But Inaba has no doubt his team will perform on Saturday and seal their spot in the finals.

“I’m pretty confident of the win. 70 per cent," he said. "Because we have to be cautious, they are a very strong team."
