It’s been one month since the S.League kicked-off and this season has been an exciting one thus far.

But while the focus has mainly lain on the established stars, one should never forget that youngsters are also an integral part of the nation's future. FourFourTwo takes a look at how the Young Guns have fared so far.

Albirex Niigata (S): Hiroyoshi Kamata

Kamata has been one of the better performers in an Albirex Niigata (S) side that has performed above expectations so far.

The 18-year-old scored on his debut to help the White Swans beat Brunei DPMM and lift the 2016 Community Shield, before he went on to put in several decent shifts over the next few games which helped the Japanese outfit to the top of the table at one point.

In the 2-0 defeat to Warriors FC which saw Albirex drop to third, Kamata was kept largely quiet. Still, the former Japanese under-17 international certainly deserves praise for the way he has performed so far.
