Jordan Webb (Tampines Rovers)

A great player’s presence is not only noticed, his absence can also be keenly felt. That can apply to Webb, who sat out the first seven games for the Young Lions last season to help facilitate their preparations for the Southeast Asian Games.

His return coincided with their rise in form, as he fired in six goals and recorded eight assists in just 18 matches.

The 27-year-old Canadian winger’s abilities have never been a question since he arrived in Singapore with Hougang United in 2010, with his pace and dribbling skills a nightmare for most defenders. This move to Tampines gives him the opportunity to work with a stellar supporting cast.

Should he work well in tandem with them, we are likely to see him replicating those exciting wing displays more often this season.
