S.League 2017: The players who could be released
Due to an injury suffered by former Basel defender Francois Marque, DPMM sought out to the services of Zeljko Savic earlier in April to bolster their defence.
The Bosnian centre-back might have had a good debut, helping his team to a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Hougang United, but since then, it has all gone downhill.
Since that game, DPMM have lost four games and conceded 14 goals in the process.
Most memorably, the 9-3 game against Home United would go down as Savic’s worst showing.
With his team down 5-0 before half time, Steve Kean might have thought enough was enough to substitute the former FK Indija defender.
Many that watched Hougang United this season may be familiar with Pablo Rodriguez’s unorthodox running style but more importantly, they might be also familiar with him as the foreigner who has yet to break his duck in the S.League.
Frozen out of the team since mid-April, 20-year-old Italian Antoine Viterale has been getting the nod ahead of him.
It sure looks like the Spaniard is treading on thin ice before the inevitable eventually happens.
