S.League Transfer Round-Up: Warriors’ waiting on approval, Young Lions pounce on Ikhsan Fandi

Warriors are waiting for the S.League to clear their paperwork in order to register their new foreign striker while Fandi Ahmad’s son is slated to move to Jalan Besar Stadium...

Young Lions

A relatively young squad has been named for the 2017 season, with several of the nation’s most promising youngsters pulled into the under-22 side.

Home’s Ikhsan Fandi was listed as one of the new signings, although sources have informed FourFourTwo that his release is still subjected to his Army unit’s discretion, as the youngster is still serving his National Service.

Promising defenders R.Aaravin and Saberin Shahrin have been recruited too, with the latter named captain of the side.

Tampines Rovers

Tampines should be done with all transfers at this stage, after beginning their season a month earlier than most clubs due to AFC Champions League commitments.

They have one of the biggest squads around but there are far less illustrious names than the season before.

Warriors FC

Warriors appear to have finally filled their foreign quota after Joel Tshibamba’s name appeared on the teamsheet in the game against Balestier Khalsa.

The Dutch-Congolese did not make the bench but this was presumably because he has not been registered with the league nor pass the mandatory 2.4km test run yet.

Tshibamba once played in Poland with Lech Poznan and found the back of the net against Manchester City in 2010.

But his career has been less than inspirational since, with disciplinary issues seemingly following him whichever club he went. In fact, Tshibamba received a red card within two minutes of his debut for his last club, FC Koper in Slovenia.

Pending paperworks, Tshibamba should be signing with Warriors Photo: FC Vestsjaelland
