Top 10 Malaysia Super League breakout stars of 2015

With the 2015 Malaysian Super League season having crossed the halfway mark, Lee Seng Foo, Kenneth Tan and Ariff Aziz take a look at some of the players that have excelled beyond expectations...

We are part of The Trust Project What is it?

Nurridzuan Abu Hassan

This list will have zero credibility if it does not include, and begin with, Nurridzuan. Following his return to his home state team from Harimau Muda B at the beginning of the season, the 23-year-old left winger has taken the league by storm. On top of having a good free-kick taking ability, he is not afraid to dribble with the ball and take on his defenders, making him a difficult opponent to mark.

On the international stage, he did not disappoint as well, as he was arguably the only bright side in Malaysia Under-23's disastrous 2015 SEA Games campaign, and was deservedly named in our Team of the Tournament

Nurridzuan and Woong have been instrumental for Perak

Namkung Woong

It might be crazy to consider 31-year-old Woong as one of the breakout stars of the season, but the South Korean forward has proven that his last season's displays for Kedah in their amazing Malaysia Cup run were no fluke. His industrious style of play and uncanny ability to score with his head have made him one of Perak's key players and turned the Bos Gaurus from a relegation-threatened side to surprise title challengers.

And thanks to four of his goals, Perak also managed to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals, having previously not made it past the first round for two consecutive seasons.
