Man City open to Sterling sale

The Mirror writes that Manchester City are prepared to sell winger Raheem Sterling if he does not agree a new deal by the end of next season.

The England international, who failed to sparkle for his country at the World Cup, is contracted till 2020 and the Citizens would rather sell him than let the player run down his contract.

23-year-old Sterling, who scored a personal best of 23 goals last season, is currently on a £170,000-a-week deal at the Etihad Stadium.

Wenger tipped as Japan coach

Arsene Wenger has emerged as the hot favourites to land the Japan national team coaching job reports the Daily Mail.

The former Arsenal manager, who previously managed Japanese club Nagoya Grampus Eight, is apparently the top choice of the Japanese Football Association.

68-year-old Wenger, who is affectionately known as the Professor, won three EPL titles and seven FA Cups with the Gunners.

Everton make Digne offer

Barcelona have received a £14-million offer from Everton for full-back Lucas Digne states Mundo Deportivo.

The French international, who was on his country’s standby list for the World Cup, is one of the players earmarked to move on this season by the La Liga champions.

24-year-old Digne, who played previously for Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma, is contracted till 2021 and cost €16.5 million.

Donnarumma an option for the Blues

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have added AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to their shortlist of replacements for Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois is expected to depart for Real Madrid and the London club missed out on their number one target Alisson.

Besides 19-year-old Donnarumma, the Blues are also considering Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel and former keeper Petr Cech.

Valencia after Fosu-Mensah

Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is attracting interest from Valencia according to Super Deporte.

The Dutch international, who spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, has played for his country at every age level.

20-year-old Fosu-Mensah, who started his career at Ajax, is contracted to the Red Devils till 2020.
