Sterling being pursued by Real

Real Madrid are plotting a massive January bid for Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling writes the Express.

The Champions League winners are prepared to bid £100 million for the England international who has been stuck in a contract stalemate with City over wage demands.

23-year-old Sterling, who has 18 months left on his current contract, is said to be happy with life at the Etihad and manager Pep Guardiola has said he wants the player to stay.

Man City consider £40m Ake bid

According to the Sun, Manchester City are weighing up whether to lodge a £40-million bid for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake in January.

The versatile Dutch international, who can also play at left-back and midfield, is also being tracked by EPL duo Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is a fan of 23-year-old Ake and believes that he has the potential to be a world-class player.

Hodgson would welcome Rooney at Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has said that DC United striker Wayne Rooney will be welcomed at Selhurst Park if he returns to the EPL according to the Mirror.

Hodgson admits that he would have loved to sign the former Everton and Manchester United player and believes that the retired England international still has much to offer English football.

32-year-old Rooney, who moved to the MLS in June, has 10 goals in 18 appearances for DC United so far.

Spurs & Juve chase Benzema

Don Balon reports that Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has received offers to leave the Bernabeu.

Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are both keen on the French international who will have to take a pay cut in order to make a move possible.

30-year-old Benzema, who cost €35 million from Lyon in 2009, has a contract with Los Blancos which runs till 2021.

Gunners interested in Malcom loan

Arsenal have cast their eye firmly on Barcelona winger Malcom according to the Express.

The London club are interested in securing a January loan for the Brazilian who is unhappy at the lack of first-team playing opportunities with the La Liga champions.

21-year-old Malcom, who is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan, has not started a game and played just 25 minutes so far for the Catalan giants.
