According to the Sun, Manchester City are weighing up whether to lodge a £40-million bid for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake in January.
The versatile Dutch international, who can also play at left-back and midfield, is also being tracked by EPL duo Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is a fan of 23-year-old Ake and believes that he has the potential to be a world-class player.
Hodgson would welcome Rooney at Palace
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has said that DC United striker Wayne Rooney will be welcomed at Selhurst Park if he returns to the EPL according to the Mirror.
Hodgson admits that he would have loved to sign the former Everton and Manchester United player and believes that the retired England international still has much to offer English football.
