Annuar Musa urges Tengku Abdullah to reconsider resignation
Tengku Abdullah announced that he will step down in stages following Malaysia’s embarrassing 10-0 defeat to the United Arab Emirates earlier this month.
However, the Kelantan supremo urged him not to act in haste.
"I understand that [Tengku Abdullah] will resign as FAM President," he posted on his Facebook account shortly after the announcement.
"It is indeed a gentlemanly decision, but the Crown Prince of Pahang shouldn't have been blamed [entirely because] the FAM should shoulder [everything] collectively.
“[Furthermore] the resignation of the president will only further weaken and distress the association.
“The most important thing right now is to fix the current issues.
“[So] we hope that, in the name of Malaysian football development, he will reconsider his decision.”
Annuar Musa also highlighted that Tengku Abdullah has contributed a lot to Malaysian football as well as on the international football scene.
