Balestier recruit first major signing of the season
The Tigers have had a quiet pre-season so far, working hard to retain the core of the squad after many key players such as Fazli Ayob, Jamil Ali and Fadhil Noh left the club.
Prime League players have been promoted to plug in the gaps while youngster Daniel Tan Farhan was also recruited.
So it must come as a huge relief to head coach Marko Kraljevic that he could bring in the experienced Raihan to strengthen his team.
Raihan has only made three international appearances for Singapore so far, with injuries disrupting his development in the previous few years.
He came back strongly in 2016 and was a vital cog in Hougang’s midfield engine room, but could not persuade Singapore interim coach V.Sundramoorthy to pick him for the year-end AFF Suzuki Cup squad.
Raihan will be hoping that changes this year with Balestier, especially since Kraljevic is renowned for his ability to bring the best out of his players.
