DPMM fill final import slot with Frenchman Marque

Brunei DPMM have signed former FC Le Mont centre-back Francois Marque as a replacement for Brian McLean ahead of the 2017 campaign.

FC Le Mont are a club in the second tier in Switzerland. He had to beat off competition from eight other trialists and eventually convinced coach Steve Kean to hand him a one-year contract.

Ramazotti and Mehmet have proven to be an exciting combination. We hope Ramazotti will emerge as top scorer of the S-League

This will complete DPMM’s foreign quota for the 2017 season after Rafael Ramazotti was retained, while Billy Mehmet also moved over from Tampines Rovers.

DPMM have largely retained the bulk of their locals, as they hope to win their second-ever title after doing so for the first time in 2015.

The club recently went on a pre-season tour in Thailand and came away with four draws. Team manager Ali Momin was particularly impressed by Mehmet and Ramazotti’s partnership, with the latter scoring four goals.

"Ramazotti and Mehmet have proven to be an exciting combination. With the quality of plays that have been displayed, we hope that Ramazotti will emerge as top scorer of the S-League again this year," the team manager told the club’s website.

"The players have shown good performances and discipline. It indicates a good sign to the team," he said.
