Euro 2016 to be broadcast live on Eleven Sports
Euro 2016 has expanded to 24 teams for the first time and Singaporeans will now have an opportunity to witness some of the game’s biggest stars in action, including Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden) and Gareth Bale (Wales).
The competition commences on June 10 with hosts France taking on Romania at Stade de France, just outside of Paris.
England then commence their campaign the following day against Russia in Marseille.
World Champions Germany and title holders Spain will be among the favourites in the tournament, which this year consists of six pools of four teams for the group stage.
“UEFA Euro 2016 is one of the most popular and important football competitions in the world and is exactly the type of major event we want to bring to the fans,” said Danny Menken, group managing director of Eleven Sports Network.
“These rights mean supporters in Singapore can still get their football-fix outside of the domestic league season.”
Sixteen teams will make it through to the first knock-out stage, with the final to be held on July 10.
