Former Lions captain Aide Iskandar opens sports marketing agency

Retired footballer Aide Iskandar has embarked upon a new career, teaming up with local rapper Sheikh Haikel to form sports marketing agency Sports Star Network (SSN).

SSN’s current portfolio of athletes includes footballers Baihakki KhaizanIzwan Mahbud and current Singapore captain Shahril Ishak.

Former Singapore captain Aide’s last stint in local football involved being an advisor for Geylang International.

Prior to that, he was the Young Lions' coach and led Singapore’s under-23 side to a bronze medal finish at the 2013 SEA Games.

Sport Star Network will be launched as a subsidiary of Gushcloud, a global marketing and media company.

With four categories of athletes in their stable - lifestyle sports, athletic sports, extreme sports, and E-sports, SSN provides a wide-range of athletes they aim to help reach and impact sporting fans in Singapore.

Aide won three Suzuki Cups with Singapore

“We believe that with our expertise, we can provide our clients with access to various opportunities in this industry,” said Aide, who won three ASEAN Championship titles with the Lions, twice as captain in 2004 and 2007.

“As a former professional footballer, I believe we can relate and represent the digital platforms of these athletes.

"Sports Star Network has great potential and I look forward to the future success of the company not just in Singapore, but in the region as well."
