Home United to pay tribute to long-serving Juma'at ahead of AFC Cup clash

Home United will be holding a testimonial match against a 'Juma’at XI' to honour long-serving defender Juma’at Jantan at Bishan Stadium on February 18.

The current Home squad will face off against a team comprising of players born in 1984, with various illustrious names such as Baihakki Khaizan and Shahril Ishak among them.

Fans can also catch Singapore No.1 Hassan Sunny and fan favourite Faris Ramli in action as the Protectors gear up for their AFC Cup match against Myanmar’s Yadanarbon FC at Mandalar Thiri Stadium on February 22.

Juma’at has relinquished the armband but is still expected to play an essential role in Home's pursuit of glory

As well as the game on Saturday, Home will be holding a meet-and-greet session for fans and will unveil their 2017 jerseys to the public.

This will be Juma’at’s eighth year with the Protectors, after he joined them back in 2007. The veteran joined LionsXII in 2012, but rejoined Home a year later.

He was made captain of Home last year following Noh Rahman’s exit and he led by example, putting in consistent displays at right-back to earn a recall to the national team.

Juma’at has relinquished the armband but is still expected to play an essential role in Home's pursuit of glory as one of only two over-30 players at Bishan Stadium, along with Hassan.

The match is a ticketed event and entry will cost $2 per person. The match will kick off at 4.30pm, subject to pitch and weather conditions.
